Just installed FLP's, need some help! I love my new headers. They sound and look incredible. I noticed a big difference in sound and in power. I took me about 4-5 hours from start to finish. I had to do some rigging on it so that everything worked. I had to bend and twist both air tubes that go on the headers. Then I had to splice into the oxygen sensor wires so that I can make them longer. For anyone who is going to be putting these headers on, I suggest you buy 2 oxygen simulators, new air tubes (if you dont want to bend then ones you got), oxygen extensions (if you dont want to splice them yourself), and if you need a oil change, this would be the best time to do it, cause youre going to have to drain the oil so that you can remove the filter, otherwise the header wont clear putting it in. So heres my question...how do I silence the headers/cats/y-pipe from rattling under the car. All of those are really close to the underside of the body and rattle when idling and when bogging. Oh and if you have a Borla catback, youre gonna have to cut about 8 inches off the intermediate pipe. |
Re: Just installed FLP's, need some help! On the driver side of the Y pipe is most likely where all of the noise is coming from. Wrap it with some insulating tape (header wrap). Then use a clamp and stick a piece of rubber (heater hose will work) between the pipe and the floor of the car. Mine does not make any noise at all!!!!. Good luck |
