Q about MAC headers or Hooker LT's I have enough money to buy either the Hooker LT'S with the Ported Throttle body and FTRA, or I could buy the MAC Headers with the TB the FTRA and the BG ramair mod. My question is what does is the difference in Longtubes over the MAC's in horsepower. And which would be the better buy. Thanks Marcel 98WS6 M6 hurst shifter, Ported MAF, Carbon/Fiber MTI lid, SLP loudmouth, freemods. 331rwhp 358rwtq. |
Re: Q about MAC headers or Hooker LT's The LT's will make more power throughout the curve, and will produce a deeper tone. The mac's will give you just a few less HP at peak hp(on stock internal car). However if you do a s/c or t/c or h/c to ur car you will be restricting power that the LT's would not. I personally, do not plan on doin h/c anytime soon, however I'm gettin the Jet Hot LT's, so i get the most HP and get the best sound. And this way i also keep my options open. |
Re: Q about MAC headers or Hooker LT's I went through the same deal, couldnt decide between MAC's and Hooker's. The longtubes really arent that much more than some MAC's, plus coating, and when jet-hot came out with there, that was an even better deal. Should have some dyno results in a few weeks |
Re: Q about MAC headers or Hooker LT's I would go with the Hookers. They make more horsepower throughout the rpm band. If your gonna do headers, might as well do it right. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Wink]" src="gr_images/icons/wink.gif" /> Oh and you can't get both the BG Ram Air and FTRA, they can't be combined |
