Default Borla wide open vs. Loudmouth

Ive currently got the Borla catback on my car and about to sell it. I was wondering if Im gonna notice any difference in sound or in power by changing from the Borla to the Loudmouth. I know that the Loudmouth flows more than twice than the Borla does. (2200cfm/900cfm) Note: This comparison is with the Borla wide open, thanks.

I raced an 01 SS and he had borlas. I have a 00 SS with the loudmouth, mine was wayyyyyyyyy louder than his **** and sounded cleaner. By the way, juss with exhaust, I beat him 3 times in a row, LOUDMOUTH all the way!

If you are going to have loud I would go with loud mouth...the Borla wide open sounds bad in my opinion....but so can the loudmouth if you get carried away like I did..

I had FLP's to ORP's, then to the Loudmouth...

I have a 2000 Z 6speed with slp ram air, whisper lid, k and n, and a dual dual loudmouth. Looks better, sounds MUCH better, performs better than the borlas, and they are what, $525? sounds like a good deal to me....

SLP's website lol?Whoever gave those figures (lm has over twice the flow?!) is sadly mistaken. Just think about the two designs. No way is that possible.

Man please!
The LM is "louder" & "maybe" flows a little better than Borla!
Come on!
IMO The Borla is the way to go!
Tune to your driving needs & have a system that looks good 4ever!
Or, go with the LM & break the sound barrier everywhere you go.

I think the loudmouth is just that....just like a loudmouth at a bar that you can't stand. It sounds like *** in my opinion.

I've had both on my prior LS1 and this is what I think:

If you want a LOUD, but UNREFINED sound, go with the LM. Personally, it is the worst sounding exhaust I've ever heard on an LS1. No tone at all(just noise).

Borla's are almost as loud but sound better IMHO(especially if you run some of the exhaust through the muffler). Personally, it sounds ok on an LS1 but is tuneable(quiet/loud) to your liking.

Sure GMMG is ridiculous $$$, but it sure sounds a LOT better than both of those systems.

I gotta stick up for my loudmouth here... One of my friends has a '70 Chevelle SS 454 LS-5 and he says that my loudmouth is the best sounding LS1 exhaust he's heard... BTW, has anybody noticed that some Borlas sound raspy? My LM has a real clear, low glug-glug-glug @ idle and a powerful smooth sound @ WOT. Maybe I got lucky.

I got both systems. I run a borla system on my f-body with factory headers, and everything else changed after that. It's loud. When I first got it I thought it sounded good. It is kinda raspy and the longer I've had it the less I like it. I run a loudmouth set-up on my C-5 and I like it. when I first installed it I installed without inserts. It was load too of course and like someone earlier stated kinda "glug glug' sounding. I just installed the inserts a few days ago and it refined the sound alot. I like it way more than the Borla. To me the Borla is just freekin irritating. Unless maye your 16??

ive got the borla with stock manifolds and i run it wide open all the time. i like it TONS better than the loudmouth. i think the loudmouth sounds like garbage. its just a collection of pipes that someone threw a cheap resonator on and tried to call it a catback. like has been said, its just noise. i dont see how the lm could possibly outflow a wide open borla. closed up yes, but wide open its just a 3 inch pipe straight through with no muffler and a 2.5 inch plate in it. all the lm exhaust goes through the resonator but almost none goes through the muffler on a wide open borla.

I love the Loudmouth and would much rather have it than a Borla. The tips aren't the best but IMO are still better than those of the Borla's. I just thought it was loud before but now after adding the LT's with RT cats...I think I'm going to go deaf (at high RPM's).

Even if the borla is wide open..25% still goes through the muffler. The loudmouth doesn't have a muffler. do the math
