Hooker Cat-Back Flow?

I noticed the Hooker cat back system is cheaper than the others, so that brings up the obvious question of how well it flows. Should I pay the extra for magnaflow? I've heard them all so I'm more interested in flow than in sound. Thanks

Re: Hooker Cat-Back Flow?

flow numbers
slp loudmouth 2200cfm
magnaflow/dynomax cat-back 1100cfm
hooker/borla cat-back 900 cfm
edlebrock less than 700 cfm (not sure on the exact number)
flowmaster 80 series muffler 350cfm

as you can see the hooker cat-back flows very well.

I think the hooker flows really well. I have a 408 stroker w/ two cutouts on the y-pipe. The difference between them open and closed is that I only lost .04.

so take that for what it's worth.. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Smile]" src="gr_stretch.gif" />

Re: Hooker Cat-Back Flow?

The thing that I like about the hooker is that it flows good with the muffler on and sounds good, but then you can drop the muffler at the track, loose about 30 pounds, and essentially have a cut out, all for about $275.

Which shop flowed these exhaust systems? Do you have numbers for a 4 inch Mufflex system?
