I would use some penetrating oil on the bolts (blaster kicks ***) so they don't break. But yea, take the coil packs off if its a 99+ they come off all in one bracket and they are really easy to take off / put on.

You can IM me if you have any questions about the install

10mm gear wrench, for the pass back, get from under the car, the drivers back use a short socket with a 1 inch extension
Spray bolts with PB Blaster, and allow to soak for a couple of hours
I left the coil packs on during my install

Go out an buy a 1/4" drive air ratchet. I can remove ALL my header bolts with mine. You can damn near change the sparkplugs through the tailpipes with that bitch.

I like to take the valve covers off to do the passenger side, but that's just me.

mommy said to never play with air tools

just make sure that socket is on there right before you pull the trigger, i'd hate to see a "stripped header bolt" thread

The 1/4" impact doesn't have enough torque to mess anything up too bad. You can use it as a wrench to break the bolts loose, then squeeze the trigger to zip it out.

I got pissed off at some heat shields one night that I was trying to remove, so I got out my 1/2" drive impact (rated for 90psi, but I run it at 150psi ), I put on a 1/2" - 3/8" reducer, then a 3/8" - 1/4" reducer, then a 7mm socket lol.

I stuck it on the bolt, hit the trigger, the 7mm socket flew off so fast that we never saw the bitch again.

........ screw came out though...........

Don't forget to have a little fun too. Isn't that a large part of the reason we spend so much money on these things?

i antiseize mine... kind does not matter. It is just a protective barrier to keep the steel and aluminum from corroding against oneanother

I used the permatex, anti sieze, cause that's what the local store stocked. It really doesn't matter the brand, just that you use it

Definatly don't use Loctite or "thread lock" of any kind. Anti-sieze is the opposite of that.

8 or 10 mm, I used a gear wrench and 1/4 socket wrench.
