LT's on lowered car??? Well since I couldnt get much assitance in my previous post looking for measurements from ANYBODY with LT's, I figured I'd try again and hit up the lowered cars. Who is running LT's on an F-body lowered with the Eibach Pro Kit? What are your clearance measurements? Thanks. [ March 21, 2003, 07:42 AM: Message edited by: Chris99WS6PWTMET ] |
Re: LT's on lowered car??? Clearance is very limited, but workable on my car. I just have to avoid speed bumps and steep driveways. I have about 3-4" of ground clearence, but the headers are not the lowest part. The catalytic converters hang lower than the headers. And, yes, pretty much everything from the headers on back is scuffed up since they became my scrape sensors. [ March 21, 2003, 07:56 AM: Message edited by: CySevans ] |
Re: LT's on lowered car??? On my car lowered with the Pro-Kit and FLPs. I have 4.25" of clearance at the lowest point of my exhaust. This is at the bend in the Y-pipe right under the driver. |
Re: LT's on lowered car??? I have the Hooker LTs/ORY with Eibach/Bilstein combo. No problems at all with my ground clearance |
Re: LT's on lowered car??? I have FLP's Hypercoils (similar drop to Eibach) and bilsteins. I have just as much clearance as I did with my stock manifolds and SLP y pipe. It WILL scrape from time to time on the Driver portion of the Y. -Nick |
Re: LT's on lowered car??? with the prokit and the QTP longtubes I still get about 4" of clearance as the lowest point is the huge 3" mufflex ORYP. the actual headers have never seen concrete. |
Re: LT's on lowered car??? Thanks for all the quick replies. Time to order some LT's!! |
Re: LT's on lowered car??? Don't have any long tube headers yet, but I've done a lot of research on them for lowered f-body's. I've got Eibach Sportline Springs on mine and even though they're 1.8" front and back drop, the car is actually about 2" lower than stock. From everyone I've talked to and through all the research I've done, the FLP long tubes seem to be the most popular - both from a clearance and performance standpoint. And, if I'm not mistaken, the Sportlines sit a tad lower than the Pro Kits. |
Re: LT's on lowered car??? I have hooker LT's and eibach pro kits. The bend on the drivers side of the y hangs pretty low but it has yet to scrape. Good luck! |
Re: LT's on lowered car??? I am making a custom Y-pipe using Stainless Oval tubing from Burns', so my main clearance concern is in the header collector area. Thanks for the replies and good info. |
Re: LT's on lowered car??? Try the Eibach pro kit with SLP long tubes..I'll be finding out how bad it is once I install the headers next month. I might end up getting the BMR 1inch drop if it proves to be a problem with my pro kit. |
Re: LT's on lowered car??? here there are some pics in my sig of my car that have ground clearence for hooker lts at stock ss ride height |
Re: LT's on lowered car??? I have G2 springs which lower my car about 1.75". With my Hooker headers, I haven't scraped them once. I've gone over some tall speedbumps expecting to scrape and make it without scraping. My old Loudmouth exhaust used to scrape all the time on stuff, but with my new setup I haven't. I have about 3.5" of clearance too. Just be careful and slowly roll over speedbumps and hills, and be even more careful when you have company in the car with you. |
