Default Pacesetters are on..I feel slower!!

Hye,
I got my pacesetter Lts and my 3" ORY installed last week, and I have punched it a couple of times since then, and my car seems slower.. Yes, Ive had my car re-tuned since the headers, My car just seems slower.. well, it could be the 95 degree weather..But it just feels like its missing something.. Could it be possible that my car is slower after this? Maybe 3" is to big of pipe?? I guess ill findout next time to the track

What mph are you "punching" it from? I have the same set up minus the LM and from a lower roll punch the car feels like it lost a little bit of torque. Have you gone WOT from 65-70? I have heard that going with longtubes you will lose a little low end but gain topend.

i'm sure it's just the loss of low end torque...i'd bank on the gains up top outweighing the loss down low tho - it'll show at the track

i was certainly able to tell a difference and that was without a tune. I think your butt dyno may be lying

I was going to say that your way rich but you said that youve had a retune . Is the A/F ratio the same as before, 13ish/1?

Its the hot temp man. I did Pacesetters/catted Y with LM last year. Tuned it up and it ran good. Nice SOTP increase. Dynoed it on a hot as hell day. Probably around 95 as well and humid. Pulled 316 at the wheels. A whopping 6 HP increase from stock! Ran it again on a cooler day and pulled 330. When the temps cool down you'll get your power.

The heat is likely the problem, I go to work at about 5am, and the car feels really strong since it's cooler then, on the way home (it was 90* today) the car feels a little weaker.
Not to mention the headers move the torque and HP higher in the RPM band, it's not alot higher, but it's somewhat noticable when I first start off from a stoplight (it'll still light up the tires tho)

Hot temps gets my vote. My car feels like it has a 150 shot when the temp drops below 50*. It might also be in your head too lol.

i agree it could be my head..most likely..So i was thinking it was the hot weather also.. I mean there is no reason why I shouldnt feel a diff. right now..My dyno numbers of 320 were from before my headers ory and slp loudmouth.. I wont dyno or run at the track till it get cold anyway.. Thanks for your input..Makes me feel better

A 180 or 160 degree thermostat wouldnt hurt, with how hot it gets up here in the summer time i think im gonna put a 160 stat in to help cool her down a bit even though my car never gets above 180 with the fans tuned to come on then. im just wondering if i should just get a 180 b/c i heard that 160 and winter temps arent good on these motors is that true?? it never gets below 0 or anywhere under 10 around here anyway so would i still be ok to use a 160 thermo????

i'd say it's the hot temps as well, they used to claim every 10 * warmer you lose 1 % power or so,so what you've gained may be offset by the heat.

Probably in your head. One thing I noticed is the extra noise caused by the headers interfered with the sense of going fast. You're butt meter gets thrown off a bit. As for loss of torque. If you're tuned you didn't lose any torque unless you count below 1000 rpm.
