The 3" fernco coupling works a little microwave time is needed to fit over TB. Good luck! It takes a quick person to put it on before it cools.

I measured the OD of my throttle body TODAY, and it measured 4 inches!!
The MAF ends are about 3.5 inches... How does a 3inch hose fit on a 4 inch pipe? Do you microwave it for 2 hours?!!?

Re: Fernco Mod

Just take your MAF into the store with you and get one that matches.

FYI...it is kind of a PIA to do. You have to heat it, fit it on, let it cool, check the fit, repeat as many times as needed (it took me 3 or 4 times). Then to make it really fit nice, you need to cut the ends (at least I did) to make it alighn right (the TB is lower than the lid).

Also, to do this mod, its a good idea to have a poly trans mount to keep the engine from twisting too much. People who did not have the poly trans mount have said that when the engine torqued up, it pulled the coupling off of the TB or MAF. Even worse, some have had the engine torque enough that over time, the little tabs on the back of the lid broke off (no more lid <img border="0" title="" alt="[Frown]" src="gr_sad.gif" /> ).

I'm not trying to scare you away from it, I'm really happy with it now that its on the car. It works wonders and I'm always getting people asking "where did you get that, it really looks good."

No poly mounts here. Fernco hose on for over 2 years. No problems. Good cheap mod for less than $5.

It works great! I believe I have the 3x3". Microwave for 1 minute so it becomes pliable.

Edit: pic didn't work

Re: Fernco Mod

I bought a "hump hose" from an air supply company in Bend, OR. (I'll try to find their web site). It was $14 shipped, and looks like the SLP bellows.

I ordered a 3.5 " - 4" since it measured the same as the TB and MAF, but the 4" was too big. So I had them ship me a 3.5 - 3.5 and it fit perfect. It took a little stretching to fit it over the TB, but the install still took less than 5 minutes.

Just fill up your sink with HOT water and it'll slip right on. No problems here whatsoever.

Re: Fernco Mod

because it is made to fit over 3"pvc pipe which measures 3.5" outside diameter and 3" inside

just thought i clear that up
