QTP Race vs Emissions LT's. Since I have an 01 Camaro, i understand there is no EGR or AIR system. So can I get the QTP race style LT instead of emission style LT and still use a catted y-pipe with 02 simms? Sorry if this is a dumb question but it would save about 80$. thanks in advance. |
Re: QTP Race vs Emissions LT's. '01's and '02's DO have A.I.R. but they dont have egr. so emissions headers for '01 and up are in order. |
Re: QTP Race vs Emissions LT's. But stop and ask yourself, do you really need that air system <img border="0" alt="[evil]" title="" src="graemlins/gr_devil.gif" /> |
Re: QTP Race vs Emissions LT's. Oh the temptation. I know I dont need that system but in order to pass the So. Cali sniffer test i need Cats...and the AIR system helps warm them up from what i've heard. Makes me wanna move out of this state. |
Re: QTP Race vs Emissions LT's. Well long tube headers won't pass a visual anyway. And as I understand Cali has a pretty strict inspection process. |
Re: QTP Race vs Emissions LT's. The emissions law here sux. It wont pass the visual however i've heard that some of these inspectors just look for anything that resembles a cat. I'll let you guys know how I do when I go next year with my LT's. |
Re: QTP Race vs Emissions LT's. I live in cali as well, ventura county. What complete exhaust set-up do you have and how hard was it to put on the headers and y-pipe witht he cats, was there a kit, or custom fab? How much was each part also. I have a 98 LS1 and just starting, but where, i have fowmastewr muffler and SLP lid. |
