I hate LS1's already Please Help
 

Got my SS few days ago and it has a exhaust leak its coming from the drivers side rear. I changed the manifold gasket for that side and the both ypipe gaskets and it is still making the damn noise. What the hell is it. I checked to make sure plugs were tighten and they are. Didnt seemed striped either. What else is there it sound like it coming from the back, maybe even half way down the engine. Any thing

how loud is it, we do have an issue called piston slap that sounds like a light valve tap. It is natural, my car dynoed 330 rwhp with the slap in effect.

You've got an 02 sensor in ther middle of the manifold, make sure that is tight. Why do you think it's an exhaust leak, what does it sound like? Does it appear to be the frequency of one cylinder or more?

What year is your SS? Does your car have difficulty idling? The #2 cylinder I believe on my car has piston slap like a mo fo. I'm betting you don't have an exaust leak. Give us more details. If you have 98-00, check the EGR crap at the intake and the exhaust manifolds for a leak.

Its a 2000 SS. I will check the o2 i didnt check that. I think its exhaust realated cuz thats just what it sounds like. Piston slap ive heard of but never heard so it mite be that. I have also heard what a bent pushrod sounds like and it doesnt sound like that cuz this doesnt get louder as rpm's increase. You only can really hear it idling and when u take off out fo first amd also if u step on the gas while driving but then it goes away. Yes i have checked the AIR stuff, felt around for air and ddint feal anyting leaking out.

could be a rocker arm thats worked its way a little loose...
