But the facts with me are what I stated before, and you copied in your reply, MTI said it could not be the lid, and it was going to cost me to have it replaced. I told them when they see the lid, they will see why it won't fit properly. They said it is impossible that it is their lid. So obviously, they were not willing to handle it, and I am going to be fair and let everyone know what happened. They sent a bad lid, so what, it happens. Upon calling them, they would not even consider that the lid could be faulty. Bad business. The attitude is more frustrating that the cost of the lid. Had I read a post like this before my purchase, I would have saved myself some headache and some time. I am just trying to help others in the ls1 community. Maybe I was just unlucky, who knows....
I didn't mean to imply that you are wrong in any way. My point was that if I bought a product and it was faulty, I would send it back and do a chargeback if they wouldn't work with me. That you should also post a response in the buyer feedback section. So, I totally understand your frustration as I've had bad dealings as well.

I do also know that a few people have had issues with the lids. I just dont know the outcome of their issues. So they could of came out ok, but you usually never hear about the good.

Had a Whisper, sold it for a TSP smoked, sold that and went back to stock. Whisper lid didn't fit very well. TSP lid fit great!

I have the Donaldson Blackwing lid. It came on my Firehawk. I love it it fits great and looks good as well. So I guess I will vote other since my lid isn't a choice.

Grantelli lid. Excellent fit. I just wish it had a glossy finish instead of the grainy finish it has.

I have the SLP lip. Worked good with factory hood perfect with Ultra Z hood. Good fit, looks good, people hardly notice it isn't a factory part. I love it and got a good deal on it.

I had a MTI lid on my 2000 TA - The fit was HORRIBLE - never sealed at the back, and like 2000ws6_104 said the company was horrible to deal with. Their attitude seemes to be that since I was only buying a lid and not able to spend thousands of dollars with them I wasn't worth their time. Times change and when I was able to spend more money on my car I shopped around for the company that was willing to spend time talking to me about what my plans for my car were and treated me like I was just as important as any other customer, no matter how large or small of an item I was buying. Thunder Racing has always been excellent in this regard.

That first (and only) purchase from MTI was 5 or 6 years ago and in the time since I have spent a lot of money on my cars. Everytime I buy anything I remember how I was treated when I couldn't and I always have as my first priority that I will buy from just about anybody except MTI. Sort of a vote with my hard-eatrned $$$.

EVERYONE should do this....

No matter what brand lid you run....

Unclasp the lid....

Position or have someone shine a " bright " flashlight....On the rear of the lid....

Down low and under the neck....On both sides....

While they are doing that....You lift the front of the lid up just enough to peak inside....

Do you see the gap or the light shinning thru ??....

The odds are you do !....

This means you sucking dirty unfiltered air into your engine....

The Blackwing is the lid I now use....I use to have the regular SLP lid and found it leaked in the rear under the neck....The surface was very wavy and needed weather-stripping to seal.

that's my lid. it came stock with the f-body along with the dual/dual. notice, it is NOT a blackwing lid. it is the same aftermarket lid that you get from SLP and was put on stock by the general.

here's a pick of my dual/dual that came with it:
