No bangin with my longtubes. Ground clearance is better than with my old Mac set up (y pipe hung low). Lt's ftw!

15/15 are you sure???? Maybe it was 1.5/1.5 gain.

Not trying to rip on you at all, but on n/a setups shorties are pretty pointless, this is down to a thing called scavenging, or lack of with shorties. On a boosted setup they work quite well but that's for other reasons.

do you have a before and after dyno graph for the shortie headers? And was it the same dyno used under the same conditions (graph smoothing, and SAE correction)?

BTW - LT should not be an issue with clearance or banging, this is due to other items, and then usuaully aviodable.

15/15 is very possible with shorties, but you'd have to be revving to like 9,000 rpm's in order to take advanage of scavenging to get it. if you put shorties on a honda s2000, then i could understand since those engines rev to 9 grand...but on a N/A pushrod motor, i'd have to say most of the horsepower would be things like the original graph being done on a 100 degree day and the next on a 70 degree day, or just dyno lying. seems too high IMO.

So what your saying is that it isn't possible.

some pics of the back bay would help....

like said before LT's for max performance otherwise shorties for minimal gains and mids for an inbetweener. simple as that.

although you would basically be running open headers and a loud *** car with some LT's

I dunno.....maybe i got lucky or somethin Bone stock I dynoed 309/318, with lid i got 316/325, with lid, ory, shorty's, catback i got 331/340...so far my ride has responded very well to mods, can't explain why I haven't dynoed yet since my ls6 intake & pulley, flywheel don't really know what to expect from those....but am telling the honest to God truth

no one's saying you're lying, we just think there are other factors at play, such as maybe your other dyno numbers were performed on hotter days. you may have dynoed the shorties on a day with cooler temperatures. and did you use the same dyno? dynos tend to lie and different dynos give you different readings.

Uhh is the engine on the car or is the dyno measuring power to the flywheel

That is true dyno's can be off......All of my dyno's were on a dyno jet and SAE corrected....all were done in the spring of 06.....who knows I had lt's ( pacesetters) but hit a man hole lid (construction on paving new road)and it bent the **** outta em and broke 2 bolts off into my block So I'm staying pretty freakin far from lt's.....Iv'e ran a 1.8 60ft w/ 110 trap w/ 12.7 1/4mi. w/ just lid, shorty's, pulley, catback so it seems to me #'s are close
