Often times during a header swap, people will crack spark plugs.

Yeah tell me about it... I managed to crack 3 plugs and I took them all out before the install. :bang:

My friend had the same problem a few weeks ago when he installed his headers. We couldn't figure out what was wrong then decided to pull the plugs and sure as shit 2 of the plugs were toast.

On my wires, I learned that even though I was pushing as hard as I could and were as far as they could go, a couple still were not connected properly. I also had this problem with the coil pack connections too.

Did you install the plugs before or after the headers were in? If you installed them before the headers, you may have hit a plug and cracked the porcelain also. I installed my plugs after the headers were in to avoid this.

:stupid: this would be my guess..

Not to hijack, but I'm doing a header/spark plug swap next week on a '98 Z with minimal mods. Putting in NGK TR55s. What should I gap the plugs @?

Thanks, Jim
