*gasp* im going LT's in cali!

yea i decided to go LT's. big surprise lol

i have many hook ups on shops thatll do "special" smogs. so im gonna get the ones with AIR and EGR.

so what do i have to look foward to with pacesetter LT's (non coated) and the 3" Y pipe? in terms of dropping the trans later and other things. ground clearance is no problem.

how is the instalation and plug wire accessibility compared to the stocker LT1 manis?

how much hp gain is included with these with a moroso CAI included?

Starz T/A 17 Sep 20, 2006 11:28 PM

nice choice, and yea I kept my Air and EGR just because it really dont hurt HP, and really it doesnt take that much away from the engine bay appearance and I dont show my car so seemed like more trouble then it was worth, but congrats again

well hearing the hype about them and now knowing about getting a 100% pass ill do it.

just worried about getting pulled over

Starz T/A 17 Sep 21, 2006 02:17 AM

Yea but you only live once, either go big or go home

Why would it matter if you got pulled over with headers on? I don't get it... explain im from BC and have gay emission laws too.

INMY01TA Sep 21, 2006 09:29 AM

I've seen tv shows where the cops pull you over and look under your hood at all the aftermarket parts. (Cali I'm guessing) Apparently you can't even put a cai on your car there. :gay:

00Formula00 Sep 21, 2006 09:34 AM

damn i need to find some special hook ups

BIG_MIKE2005 Sep 21, 2006 09:46 AM

I would have at least got coated living that close to a ocean. Your rain water is bound to be more salty. Good luck. Cali is gettin so gay your not even supposed to mod your car in any way performance wise.

Their emmissions are gettin out of control. They are even tryin to sue car manfactures for their pollution problems. Like its the car makers fault they got so many damn people living there. Its just stupid.

blackops22 Sep 21, 2006 12:24 PM

ohh man that must suck balls. And I thought where I lived was bad....

Revelation Z28 Sep 21, 2006 03:37 PM

i dont have any rust on my stock y pipe or anything so i dont think itll effect the LT's.

i dont really thing ill get pulled over, my car wont be that much louder than it is with them.

its not just rust that it helps prevent the ceramic coating REALLY helps keep down the temperature under the hood to help performance

best saying i've heard ever concerning LT's in cali :thumb:

Revelation Z28 Sep 21, 2006 05:49 PM

do the basic pacesetter LT's come with AIR and EGR connections?

stangkiller2005 Sep 21, 2006 05:55 PM

my advice.. just delete the egr and air...it actually saves you money... (you dont have to buy block off plates if u get race ready headers) ;) yea yea i kno there cheap but its money in ur pocket.... also just get the coated ones.. pacesetter has some nice coated pacesetters for cheap... you will be much more happy in the long run...un coated headers will get real ugly quick... and u will get more perfomance with coated ones ;) back to deleting the egr and A.I.R.. you dont need it.. and iz very easy to remove wen installin headers... atleast the a.i.r. your not gunna be running cats are u? and also congrats on deciding to get LT'S :)

Da Swami Sep 21, 2006 06:28 PM

God I hate California's emissions laws. But I love where I live/go to school, so I guess I'm out of luck.

Oh for anyone that needs it, here's a list of all aftermarket parts that are CARB legal in California:

http://www.arb.ca.gov/msprog/aftermk...es/amquery.php

Technically even most lids are illegal here....ARGH!

Revelation Z28 Sep 21, 2006 06:37 PM

i want to keep the air and egr so just in case i need to go back to the stock manifolds. i am running 1 cat obd1 here.

would i need o2 extensions for lt's?

thats because your stock y pipe is stainless steel.

get coated headers, if not the headers will rust through in a few years. if not for the only reason that they look much nicer

Revelation Z28 Sep 21, 2006 06:57 PM

well if i can get the coated lt's with air and egr then ill get em.

and a custom Y pipe so i dont have to move my stock cat location.
edit: or go cheap true duals.

Cop Car Sep 22, 2006 12:23 AM

true duals FTW

Formula_X Sep 22, 2006 12:49 AM

I have LTs, TDs and bullet mufflers... one of the loudest setups possible, and I've never gotten pulled over for them.
