This all sounds odd. The only way someone could confuse the LOUDmouth for being quiet is if they are deaf.

What did you have on the car before hand? Was it stock?

At idle it won't be the loudest but still pretty darn noticable. However even at light throttle while driving it is LOUD. I have the LM on stock headers and cats. And at WOT it easily heard over a mile away. I know I've tried it.

Are you sure it was an LM you installed? Maybe they sent you the wrong exhaust like a Dual/Dual or something, as they are pretty quiet. What did it look like?

very fishy, if its not loud then you dont have the lm1 mines loud at 500rpm's, and people aroud my town came running out saying slow down when i wasnt even going past the speed limit ( on more then one occasion, and not by the same people) i agrea ^ i think somethings clogged severly bad, or you got the wrong exhaust.

Exactly what I suspected - you got the LMII which is supposed to be quite a bit quieter.

Keep that LMII Can around. If you ever put on headers and delete your cats, or get highflow/OR cats, you might not like how crazy loud its going to be.

Personally, I love my Loudmouth and after a 3-4 hour drive back home to see the folks, I still love listening to the LT1 rumble.
With a 6 Speed you can downshift and really make any exhaust talk.

Mine was loud with stock manifolds. After longtubes it got a lot louder but I'm used to it now and love it. Best mod I did so far because it sounds good and gets peoples attention. Also added some extra power too.

never know. better check to make sure you have the LMII. take the muffler/resonator off and check in it for packing. if its a LMI the muffler/resonator will look like a 6 inch pipe inside with no packing. if its a LMII it will have packing in it. i think what you need to do if you have the LMI is have someone else drive it past you because your pipes are pointed straight back so you dont get the resonance inside the car you would if it were dumped. i thought my LMI wasent as loud as it is when i got it untill i had someone else drive it past me at WOT. then i realized it was loud as ****.

Even with an LM2 it still should be pretty loud, I think you'd benifit more from LT/Y setup then swapping out to a LM1 muffler*or there lack of haha*

LTs will alter tone increase the loudness and gain you power sure it'll cost more but it's better all the way around, if you can't do LTs or won't I still wouldn't bother swapping the mufflers, it'll not be that much a differnce, and I feel the little bit louder the LM1 system it doesn't sound quite as good.

Up to you and it's not like it's too much money to pick up a used lm1 res.

If you want a world ending loud you'll need to do more then just exhaust for the car though.

I personally love my sound. It's a bit raspy and undefined because I have it dumped at after the Y-pipe but it's loud as hell. and still no tickets *knocks on wood*. I just ordered my SLP Catback though, its going to be hell when I let her rip

And Im in Cali... *shakes head*
