I didn't do enough research before i bought this damn thing, i didn't realize it was such a PITA to remove. I didn't know it would take an act of god to find the right tool and i still haven't found the right one i had to grind a puller so it will fit. And i haven't got it removed yet, hopefully this works it now fits ok we'll see if the threads strip out :bang: . Oh and i couldn't find any 3 jaw pullers big enough for the ppl. that are going to tell me to use one of those. The right tools don't exist around here apparently.

Sorry i'm just frustrated for having wasted 2 days driving around looking for the "tool" that nobody has ever heard of :jest: . And every place had a tool that would work only to find out they are talking about the same tool i already have sitting in my garage :( . Why did march make the pulley like that???????????

this is the kind of shit that can get you banned buddy... have a sense of maturity :judge:

Why cause i posted a middle finger lol i've saw alot worse on here and i don't see a problem with that since there is this smiley :321: . And i can't talk about the crap design of the march underdrive pulley? If the finger bothers everyone that much i will remove it lol. I thought it might add some humor to the post, not getting a response to tell me to grow up :jest:. What should i say i'm happy i wasted 2 days trying to remove the pulley, everything is as dandy as puppy dogs and candy canes?

Get a big fuggin 3 jaw puller. That's how I've done it every time. I'm talkin a puller with like 8" jaws.

I tried to find one i swear, they don't exist around here i have tried every tool place within a 20 mile radius of me they either didn't have the big jaw puller or didn't know what i was talking about. If my modified puller i made doesn't work i'm going to have to order a big fuggin jaw puller. I am trying to get the cam swap done this weekend well tomorrow, which is why i didn't try to find something on the internet and order it already.

i didn't think it was that bad...granted the post lacked description and sounded like it was written in haste by an 8th grader  but it wasn't bad...

It's not March's fault. You just can't find the right puller. Direct your frustration elsewhere.

How is it not their fault lol, they don't make a puller for it either. The puller you need is a larger steering wheel/balancer puller. In which like i said a million times you can't find anywhere. I guess you guys don't understand, Articz28 is the only one that hasn't said i shouldn't be mad at march lol i'm sure he has some nifty looking tools that didn't work on the march before he found a big enough set of 3 jaws.

And how did the post lack description? The pulley has a bad design on the bolt holes puller could not be found thus frustration happened. I know there are other march pulley owner's that share my feelings.

The only tool in this thread is YOU :gay:

erikthegoalie Oct 1, 2006 01:05 PM

get creative man...go to a shop, see how a professional would remove it...
could be worse, your threads in the crank could be stripped =(

I did i modified a tool to work. It will probably get worse the threads in the pulley will probably get stripped.

Full force- that's cute :) . You took the time to post in my thread and tell me i'm a tool. I feel special, but really your off topic to my post.

Time2Kill Oct 1, 2006 01:33 PM

We use a small 3 jaw puller much like this in the shop: http://www.amazon.com/Ton-Capacity-W...8&s=automotive

It's small so its easy to fit in tight engine bays, and its just big enough to get the pulley off the crank.

ARE YOU SERIOUS, how would i know that the bolt pattern on a march from any other underdrive was different. Why would i even had thought of researching that?

Tim @ EAD Performance- Thanks for the info, obviously everyone flaming me hasn't dealt with this. Anyways how did you attach the puller to the pulley? I figured it would mess up the outside of the pulley, and it's not big enough to reach all the way around the pulley.

because it is stupid to make an uneducated purchase. you shouldn't take your anger out on those offering criticism. they are right in what they are saying and are responding in the same manner in which you started your bitch about your pulley. a simple search on this site would have revealed this information prior to your purchase.

99Hawk262 Oct 1, 2006 03:02 PM

Come on guys.....the whole purpose of this site is to get help with the things that we have no idea about. Granted, searching might have helped him, but that's no reason to flame him. If you aren't going to offer help on how to remove it or where to find a proper tool, then don't post anything. We could all easily be in his position some day with our own problems and only wish to get some help. :) Good luck.

89tang Oct 1, 2006 03:13 PM

Actually searching offered nothing, 3 post's were made about march pullies being diffecult to remove after june 2006 i put the pulley on in january 2006 so that would offer NOTHING. What the search did offer back then is that march was a good pulley for the money so i bought it. Thanks for all your worthless replies except the ones that did offer how to remove it.

SiL3NtXWS6 Oct 1, 2006 04:30 PM

All of you guys really need to lay off him.

The pulley is a bitch to get off, either way, and you're blaming him that he can't find the right tool.

The only people in this thread that are tool bags, are the ones who posted up worthless information ... i bet they have never tried to remove it.

A LARGE 3-jaw puller is the only thing i have read that works.

ArcticZ28 Oct 1, 2006 06:21 PM

A lot of responses in this thread are from people who have not had first hand experience in trying to remove the march pulley. Finding the right tool is only the half of it. Once you do find a large enough puller to get the thing off, it is a huge PITA to get it seated even remotely straight against the crank to get it pulled off. How this thread got into "do your research before you buy" and "stop blaming March" is beyond me but it really has nothing to do with what the guy is asking for. The pulley is a PITA and the thing I dread most on my car. It took me 45 min to get it off the first time, and this was after I finally found a puller for it. I empathize with this guy, and while March didn't put a gun to anyone's head to buy their pulley, they certainly could have done a bit better engineering in the department of how to successfully remove it. ASP did it well, but I'm not sure where March was going with theirs though.
