Default Kooks 1 7/8" fit

I'm looking for feedback from people who are running kooks 1 7/8" headers in an F-body. Any fitment issues with the increased piping size?

They fit great. The only difference is installing them. They don't slide in like the 1-3/4. Once you get them in, there flawless.

They go in pretty easy and look pretty.

Now the Kooks Y-pipe is another story. You dont even want to know what i had to do to make it fit. (trust me, george is well aware of this, after i installed it several times with no luck Kooks paid for the install at Livernois Motorsports, but alas, Livernois had the Exact same issues, so we hacked them up and made custom parts. Overall, I love the headers, hate the Y-pipe)
Hmm, that is strange as I usually hear that the kooks y-pipe is one of the best fitting in the business. Do you think it could have just been a bad one?

I run their 1 7/8x2" stepped and they fit pretty nice. Way better then my buddy's 1 7/8" hookers do. My plug wires are a tad tight but they don't melt so they must be safe. I do run heat boots on them as well just to be safe.

i had a hell of a time getting my 1 7/8-2 X 3.5 kooks in (the drivers side was the reason, had to unbolt the engine jack it up 3-4 inches, remove the oil filter, and cut the k member with my plasma-not in that order) the passenger side slid right in... i think if mine were straight 1 7/8 all the way it would of been alil easier, but still required the engine going up or cutting the k member protrusion off.

I have 1-3/4 stepped to 1/7/8ths everything fit perfect including the y. The passenger side header clearance to the sub frame is close, but does not hit.

Also guys, make sure your tranny mount is holding the tranny up high enough, Reason why I say this is, I installed a Yank tranny mount (with TQ arm mount) replacing my stock mount. Well I was wondering why my header was now hitting. I thought everything moved over to the passenger side but actually it moved down. I made a spacer to lift the tranny back up and now I have my original clearance back. So keep this in mind on installs, may need to go up not just over to a side.
