I am going to buy lt's from the pacesetter website..What part# is the correct one?? I want the Lt's but not sure what pt. #....what catted-y would be the best with these headers?? Don't want no height issue or scraping

DarkhorSe_SS Oct 21, 2006 08:21 PM

:werd: Thats where i plan to buy mine from

I bought Pacesetter LTs and TSP catted Y, with 2 O2 extensions for $775 shipped. Most other companies sell just the headers for $700+. I don't see much reason for going to the more expensive ones. The people who say the others will last longer are full of shit. People have had these same pacesetter on daily drivers for years, no problems. Especially if it's a weekend toy, there is no reason to waste double your money on something else.

:metoo: Been driving their setuip for two weeks now....nice setup, not a bad price as well!!!! Install shop didn't say they had any prolbmes, but then that's why I paid them $500 for the install!

EchoMirage Oct 22, 2006 05:48 PM

I wound up paying just over $500 too. He told me originally 370, when some other certain shop quoted me 550 just because I brought my own eggs to the omlette. Then of course he had to cut and weld in 02 bungs, plus band clamps instead of the cheaper clamps Pacesetter sent, and it went to over 500. Question is, I ordered the LTs emissions compliant.....with all the stuff for air, egr, 02s, whatever. Aren't the bungs supposed to come installed with emissions compliant LTs?

I can't speak intelligently about the above statement. But shoot an e-mail over to the people that you are thinkin' about getting them from, they should be able to answer any questions.

Or even give TSP a call or PM them.

EchoMirage Oct 22, 2006 06:12 PM

You got their catted Y also.....did your LTs come with bungs installed? Or did you go with 02 sims?

Splitz Oct 22, 2006 06:18 PM

Seeing that they didn't want any more money out of me since I brought them all the parts the cattedY i assume came with bungs and not O2 shims.

gyrene2003 Oct 22, 2006 08:05 PM

ok, so i ordered the pacesetter quick trip armor coated headers and they are the emmisins legal versions, ive got i guess the bungs u guys are talking about in them, and i ordered the tsp catted-y which hasent come yet, but i didnt get any band clamps with my headers, am i supposed to buy them myself and what else will i need for the install?? Ill be doin it with a buddy! will i use the existing o2 sensors and do need any extensions?

Tainted Oct 22, 2006 08:07 PM

12 inch extensions, use the stock gaskets, LOCKUNG header bolts. as for clamps, use band clamps. the apce setters are of a slip-fit design

Tainted Oct 22, 2006 08:10 PM

2 extensions. locking bolts are made by Grade 8 (?) and Breslin. the bolts that come w/ the headers are NOT locking and the gaskets are total shit

gyrene2003 Oct 22, 2006 08:11 PM

so are the bolts i got locking? And how many extensions do i need, 2 or 4?

EchoMirage Oct 23, 2006 04:55 PM

Apparently the bolts aren't locking. You'll need 2 extensions, for the rear 02 sensors I assume. The clamps that come with the headers are the same basic ones you can get at any parts store. They distort the tube, and hang lower. The band clamps make a better seal without distorting the tube, don't hang any lower. They're probably around $10 each, maybe less. You'll need 4. At least that's what my shop told me, there's no way I could have done it myself.
