Default How far did you grind down your K-member for headers?

I was grinding down the k-member on a friends car on Sat and I was starting to go through the metal. I didn't really like this so I stopped. It's now banging the k in stead of resting on it like it was. I was wonder how many of you have gone through the k opening up a hole? Is this safe to do?

No grinding here with Stainless Work headers. Are you looking at the guide that shows Kooks being installed? I saw that as well but didnt have to with my headers. Its close but doesnt ever touch.

the headers in question are QTP headers. which everyone knows has a clearance issue with the passenger side header resting or banging on the k-member.

found this, someone else just cut a square out of the kmember.

I had to grind down the K-member a little for my Jet-Hots to fit right. It was on the driver's side right where one of the primaries comes close to the K-member. I didn't have to grind much though, maybe 0.125".
