Daily Driven TD's dumped

Just wanting to know if a TD's catted H-pipe single chamber flowmaster dumped would be too loud for a Daily Driver? Just wanting to testimony's on daily driven TD's exhaust dumped. TIA guys.

I have a similiar set up x-pipe dumped with dynomax bullets and no cats, that imo is one of the loudest true dual setups. It is loud of course on a cold start, but I get used to the interior noise in a matter of minutes and like the sound. I wouldnt recommend for people who live in quiet apartments or neighborhoods with bitchy neighbors though..just my 2cents.

my friend has 3.42 gears and an A4 with flows dumped at the axel and he hates it, droney as hell

my brother has magnaflow true duals dumped at the axel and its hardly louder than stock on the inside of the car. you can converse and think just like normal. plus they sound great. IMO the single chamber flows will give you a headache

Ya, I didnt mean to make it sound like its unbearably loud or anything, just that with two bullets that are practically just more piping, nothing really to muffle it. Its going to be loud, but I love the sound. Wish I had heads/cam and I could really hear what the end of the world sounds like. :(

I have LT'S with tsp sweet thunders dumped and it is loud, but the sound is the best. Every day i drive it I sit there for a minute and think to my self... DAMN MY CAR SOUNDS BAD ASS. LOL Thats just my .02

DirtyJohn Nov 9, 2006 03:15 PM

The interior noise on mine is starting to drive me crazy.
I think with cats it would prob be significantly more bearable.

Def sounds good on the outside tho.

Put a decent sized cam in there and see what happens. The migrains get old after a while.

Well hopefully I could tell you in a week, as you have the same cam I'm installing this weekend.
I can only see it getting worse tho.

buy 2 magnaflow straight through mufflers and then take them to a shop to have them weld up an x pipe. it is awesome sounding. go to LS1sounds.com or whatever it is and look it up.

if you are worried about loudness this muffler is perfect. at idle its really bassy, at crusing its quiet, no drone, at WOT it screams because its straight through

orangeapeel Nov 9, 2006 05:00 PM

I think that it would be loud regardless. Why go that route with no noise?

Thats on my next to do list. I think I will be able to handle it, Some of the trucks I have had in the past were ten times worse than what I have now. You know, just the floorboard there, no padding or carpet. I will probibly luv it that much more. lol

i have a g5x2 cam with mac headers to an x pipe to borla xr-1 mufflers. sound bad ass but too loud at 6am in the morning (inside of car). I dont have any sound mat on the inside though. time to get some....

spazzyfry123 Nov 9, 2006 06:54 PM

I daily drive my setup (long tubes, off-road X, and Dynomax Bullets dumped) and love it. The inside noise is enough to rattle the body paneling, but I love it. Today, I actually had an administrator at my school tell me that I need to idle through the parking lot. Apparently I scare the school bus drivers when I drive by with how much sound I put out

I'm planning on installing a rather large and nasty cam shortly (T-Rex perhaps?). So the sound can only get better, right? :)

okls1 Nov 10, 2006 02:32 AM

dd mine, got a slightly larger cam on the same lsa. I love the way it sounds, 10* of overlap through dumped duals  The tips are angled out, I have sweet thunder mufflers, and cant count the compiments on my exhaust. Sometimes I think its not loud enough, but for some reason I think the police would tend to disagree. No problems yet, go for it.
