Default Autometer Oil Temp Gauge Install

I want to install an Oil Temp gauge in my center A/C vent and I was wondering where I should tap the sensor into. Those of you who have this gauge, where did you put your sensor??

Also, will 2-5/8" fit the a/c housing??

Pics would be great!!

Here is where I tapped mine into. This piece is found above the oil filter, two bolts and it's off.
Then drill and tap where the sending unit is, see the pic below.

Do you have to drain the oil to do this or can you do it with oil in the car?
Might sound stupid question but I am assuming the oil has to come out.

The oil will come out. Especially if you don't bolt the piece back on right and then leak oil all over TTP's dyno.
