Default Does anyone have a polished Weiand intake?

This intake looks awesome but why is it that don't I hear about this intake? Is it just for a appearance mod. Do they actually make any kind of power.

i heard they flow really good but, because they are made out of metal they attract heat.

it is a LS6 style manifold.. you wont see any gains if your putting it on an 01 or 02... but if its going on an 98-00 ls1 then you will gain a few HP(they claim 12 but prolly more like 5-9... i think a fast 90/90 setup would be worth the few extra dollars and would be plenty of intake for future mods (H/C ect...)

the weiand only looks prettier then a normal ls6 intake and not worth 800 bucks

I had one several years ago, polished the runners on top myself, turned out nice, you can kind of see it in this pic (before the !wire mod, and please ignore/excuse the blue wire loom, I have since come to my senses ) :

It was a noticeable difference over the LS1 intake, had it on my old 222/224 114LSA/11.8:1 5.3L heads/cam setup. Also has EGR provision if you require it, or you can block it off. It's casted after the LS6 intake, but according to several reviews by magazines/shops it doesn't flow quite as well as the LS6. Although the 'heat soak' theories are mostly BS and there isn't a measureable negative affect on horsepower, it does hold a good amount of heat and is much heavier than the composite LS6 intakes.

Haha, to redeem myself, here's what my engine bay looks like now :

The "lid" is the plenum for my ATI P1SC blower and dual intercooler setup. The fuel rails are from LS1speed.
