Default Will I Have Bad Backpressure?

So far i've got the Flowmaster 80 series on. In a few weeks im going to install a set of pacesetter headers, 3"cat, and then a 3" s pipe. The mid pipe and over axel pipe will remain stock for a while...might upgrade later down the road. Im just concerned about the 3" s pipe dumping into a stock setup then my muffler. I heard by doing this it'll help me keep my tourqe and it'll open up my engine a bit too/betetr sound and higher rpms.

Keep in mind I have a 3.8

You don't want backpressure. That is not the issue. I am not familiar with how the V6 setup works, but I would assume that you want to have good scavenging effects on any setup.

So will this setup hurt me a lot or will I just lose some free hp if I had 3" all the way back. Am I still going to gain some good hp from the headers and s pipe?

The headers are going to help tons more than the smaller piping will hurt in your situation. I wouldn't worry about it for the time being especially if you are planning to upgrade it sometime in the future.

Would I be better off just putting the headers on and leaving the s pipe off for now?

Yes...the headers will make the biggest difference.
