Default does any place rent out exhaust separators?

I may be pulling my exhaust system soon and I'd much rather separate my exhaust where the u clamp was than torch it in half b4 the axle. I remember people on the board used to use exhaust separators and was wondering if you rented them from somewhere are had to buy one? The only place I could find online wanted $45 for a 3" version, and the only carstore that shows it's rental products is auto zone and they don't have it. thanks!

Heat the slip joint up with a torch and use a hammer if you can't get it loose.

I had to put a ratchet strap around one at one point, attatch one side to the K-member, tighten the ***** out of it, and hang off the thing while beating with a hammer.

haha, that'd probably looked goofy as hell but it worked!
Unfortunately, I don't have a torch so the first method won't work. I guess I could take it to midas or somethin to see if they can pull it apart but I hate lettin other people touch my car when i dont know if they know what they are doing! I'd much rather spend the $45 on the separator

What's the difference between what you have and a propane bottle with a torch on top? I have one of those but I didn't think it'd be hot enough
