popping sound?

Anyone have any idea what the popping/ticking noise is? Coming from the rear of the car near the exhaust (under trunk). A few weeks ago I had the exhaust leaks welded.

Changed them in June 2004......Could it be my 02 sims going bad

when i put my plugs in i had to change then 3 months later. then i bought the good ones. see if you can get someone to see if your car is throwing any codes. i think it could be also that your a bears fan. that could be the real problem.

You sure it isn't just unburned fuel detonating in the exhaust? Mine does that occasionally...especially when it's cold.

all i'm hearing is a ticking sound. I thought maybe it was an exhaust leak but you said they were all sealed up. What does it sound like when you rev it?

Im with you buddy

check the plugs. these cars do that stock trim on cold starts b/c motors are tuned to run rich to heat up faster. if you did a header swap, you could have cracked a plug and see a flashing SES light or just that you're A/F ratio is messed up.

It would pop when I rev it. It only happens when I drive the car for awhile. The next day it is fine until the car gets hot.

You still have cats on the car? Maybe it's a piece of chipped off catalyst flopping around in there?

No Cats

MIDNITE Z 02-09-2007 05:21 PM

Well I scanned it and nothing showed up....However when the car was idling it was making weird noises(sounded like there was a cam in it) and the car jumped to 2000 rpm...WTF

MIDNITE Z 03-16-2007 01:40 AM

Well...a few weeks ago I lost a spark plug.....after replacing it the ticking sound is gone :)
