Helpp! Installing My Td's

Okay before i posted up about how my hooker headers tuck up soo much that it hits the floorboard. Well now im installing my td's onto them and because they tuckup soo much i cant even bolt my reducer up to it because of where the feul lines drop down....WHAT SHOULD I DOO!

How am i suposed to hook up my td;s to this!!!!

What TD system? My headers tucked that high and my TSP system wasn't a problem. I need to BFH the floorpan a bit, but other than that, they got on just fine. My only thought is that you have to use that 3-bolt transition, that might be making them go out TOO far... My pacesetters just had a slip fit. That might be your issue?

well i have to have the reduces on there cause the tds are only 2.5". the reducers anrt a slip fit tho so they just "buttheads"

sickws698 Mar 13, 2007 11:13 AM

i bought this of a guy with the same year car as me, its a headman x pipe with custom the rest...

Also what is the 3bolt transition?

Well what I meant was, your hooker headers have a 3-bolt collector flange, whereas many LTs for the LS1 are slip fit. what I'm saying is, the fact that you have to have that reducer bolted onto the END of your header might be pushing the duals further back than intended. What LT did the previous guy have?

My 3 bolt flanged setup fit ok, Im using pacesetter headers though.

Pacesetter makes 3-bolt headers? Wierd. I'm probably wrong in my assumption but that's about the only thing I can think of.

They were installed on them, they dont come like that.

Oh. Not so odd.

sickws698 Mar 13, 2007 11:28 AM

well my td's are 2.5 and my headers are 3" so i had to have a reducer other wise i woulda loved to just slide them in there....idk what i should do im installing them rite now and im stuck!

lastcall190 Mar 13, 2007 11:29 AM

Got any better pics? Kinda dark, maybe put the dual on so we can see exactly where the issue is.

well i cant put the dual on because where those fuel lines go the car hangs a lil bit lower and my td's wont even fit up to the whole

Take it to an exhaust shop and let them deal with it.

sickws698 Mar 13, 2007 11:30 AM

but ill take some better pics with me holding the tds up there so u can see

sickws698 Mar 13, 2007 11:35 AM

alot of exahust shops wont deal with me cause its and " illegal exhaust" with no cats and what not. also money would kind of be an issue

:werd: I would just see if anyone local can do it. Where do you live that they won't touch it? Also, maybe I'm blind, but I don't see any fuel lines in the pics. Are you talking about the ones that go along the driveshaft tunnel?

Some shops are like that, i have seen them before.

sickws698 Mar 13, 2007 11:39 AM

theres a shield over the fuel lines..the fuel lines are under that silver shield that the end of the reducers are hitting

lastcall190 Mar 13, 2007 11:43 AM

Ohhh ok now I see it. My headers cleared it, barely, but cleared it. It seems as though if the whole header/reducer setup were a few inches shorter it'd work. I don't really know how to work around that. Answer this, where the duals attach to the reducer, do they drop down in the direction of the ground, kind of like a zig zag or just a straight shot?
