The LS6 vettes do get a better manifold, but they will not fit on the LS1 when it is in the F-body engine bay from what I read.

Some people dont or cant get headers, that is what irks me when people get on here and dog those of us that either dont want long tubes or cant get them.

LS6 manifolds are pretty much shorties... they wont fit Fbodies without some modifications.

The location of a F-Body exhaust manifold is nore to the rear and the LS6 Corvette are more centered.. on a F-Body, you will run into clearnce issue of the K-Member.

then just keep the stock manifolds...dont see the reason for the switch...cant really be any power gain...i mean shorties give what maybe 5 hp and those flow alot better than the manifolds will...

just keep the stock mainfolds...look at my times for proof...the stock manifolds really flow better than most think...i maybe gained at most 10hp from the qtps...kinda wish i was like you and had the stock stealth look again...

everyone now is like oh you got headers that is why you run 114-115 mph...

i quess they will pay off when i get the cam

The only bad thing about proting the stock ones is that to get them done right you will spend more than some of the headers on the market.

Ermmm, I dont really think you'll put any kind of "whooping" on anyone by merely swapping out the 99 manifolds and going to 00+, even ported...

Granted I guess you could have other mods, but its hard to think of any that will help you put a whooping on anyone other than a hidden nitrous setup and still look stock.

I never said it was stock. I said "stock appearing". look at Wheel to Wheel's Nova for example. Stealth

hahaha, not until you pop the hood, if the first super charger doesn't get you thinking then the second one would certainly get your attention on that little old Nova. IMO just get headers and tell every one your hood latch is broken.

Still don't see the point, you'll pickup maybe 1hp with them for a lot of work and money.

It won't help in beating anyone.

Remember shorty headers will typcially only see 3-5rwhp, even on cammed setups.

This is because the flow rate of stock manifolds is actually sufficent for most 346ci setups. Scavenging is where the extra power comes from and in order to scavenge within the rpm range of the LS1 you need longer primaries. LT's are ideal, mids will work on higher revving setups but still lack the low and mid range puch of LT's. Shorty's need something like 10,000rpm before they scanvenge and stock manifolds don't scavenge at all.

On a boosted setup the increased flow potential of tubular headers (shorty, mid or long tube) will all see a gain over stock. But this is becuase with FI scavenging doesn't take place, so it's a different ball game.

i have a set of 01s if youd like to buy them. Theyre suppossed to flow better than the other years.

The ls6 exhaust manifolds wont really fit.
