Lose TQ with TD's?

Sorry guys, i tried a search but couldn't find exactly what i was looking for.

I have always thought TD's increased bottom end TQ and increased HP.

Just recently a knowledgeable buddy of mine said you lose TQ with TD's.

Is this true?

Its not really that you "lose" torque, it just shifts up in the power band. Instead having more down low, you will gain some in the higher rpm range.
If I am off on this anyone, feel free to chime in:cheers:

sOUNDS ABOUT RIGHT TO ME. I've always know as fact that the true dual set up...or staright pipe setup will cause power/torque loss on your low end of the RPM scale but you will gain it back on the top.

It's kinda like a woman. You usually find one with a big ol' bangin' ass, but she's got no tits. Then you find one with some nice ol' big juicy boobs, but she's got no ass. When you find the comfortable medium, you keep it!

Ya well i have that problem with boobs and ass :( SUX :ripped:

but TD's should make more power all the way across the board in tq and HP.
