help.....Just Got Done Installing my SLP LT's Any who has done this install have you had any problems with the driver side of the Y-pipe hitting the floor board. If so what did you do to solve the problem. |
Re: help.....Just Got Done Installing my SLP LT's I wedged thick rubber exhaust hangers in between the floorboard and the y pipe. i had to pry it down with a crow bar to get it in. i also used some hose clamps to help keep it in place. good luck. it drove me nuts!!! |
Re: help.....Just Got Done Installing my SLP LT's I first undid the whole exhaust system so I could adjust it as needed. I then seen that I needed to re-drill the hole in the Y-pipe hanger bracket to force the pipe to hang lower. Then retightened the system back up. |
Re: help.....Just Got Done Installing my SLP LT's Yeah, had the same problem. Just slap the hose over the pipe. easy fix!! <img border="0" title="" alt="[Big Grin]" src="gr_grin.gif" /> |
Re: help.....Just Got Done Installing my SLP LT's not sure if you tried this as well, the headers kind of tilt up and down on the header bolts themselves if you tilt them down which I know is a very small amount at the headers it will give you more clearance at the y pipe, this is what I did and I have no banging at all, It would be a PITA though to go back and mess with all the header bolts but it is something to try if you wanted to. |
Re: help.....Just Got Done Installing my SLP LT's thanks guys ......... i called slp and they told me to loosen all the clamps and wedge a 2x4 between the pipe and the floor and they retighten the clamps and remove the 2x4...... it worked pretty well but hits every once in a while |
