Pacesetter's chipping?

I had my coated pacesetter lt's put on about two months ago, and the coating is starting to chip and fake off by the collector. Seems a little early to be doing this! Has this happened to anybody else? :bang:

yea! someone posted a not even a week ago.....and some here thought I was stupid for going with plain, lol cars in the garage and theres not a spot of rust on them yet.

styoung Apr 28, 2007 07:12 PM

did you happen to get oil on them, that will cause it to chip.

Not a drop! I keep that bad boy spotless.

I have a few chips an blemishes, but I did it to them! My pacesetters diddnt just glide in like a football player on prom night.

How can I stop it from getting worse?

my Pacesetters on my SS have been on since the winter. I live near the ocean and haven't driven the car that much. Mine have a few chips and stuff but look OK for the most part. The Stainless steel Kooks LT on my Trans Am look like pure crap

Coated Pace Lt's are only coated from the outside, and the moisture that collects in the collector will start rust throught the inside. that is why I ordered my pace lt's from maryland speed<---a sponsor. They sell'em "jet hot" coated inside and out, and they carry a lifetime warranty! just my.02

I'm having no issues with my Pacesetter coated longtubes.

Love them - no chipping!

With the jet hot did they coat them on the inside? I am shopping headers for my car, and i am hearing pacesetters are the way to go. I wanted to get them Ceramic Coated and wrap them as well.

I don't have any problems with chipping, but they do have a bit of surface rust that I need to clean off. They've been on the car since June of '05.

Apparently you drive through some corrosive streets or something man.

Do you have any pics of your Kooks? How long have you had them on?

Yes sir, through and through, plus they have a life time warranty, cant beat it in my opinion, dont think you'll need to wrap them though.

If your gonna get Pacesetters, our Jet Hot coated Pacesetter's are the way to go. Pacesetter uses the cheapest possible coater on their stuff, where Jet Hot is top of the line, coated inside and out, and warrantied for life.

Check them out here-

Are Pacesetters not coated on the inside?

No they are not. And the coating does not have a warranty like Jet Hot offers.
