what's the best fuel system cleaner??

what's the best fuel system cleaner? How often should the good stuff be used? Reason asking is, my 99 TA just got new plugs and wires and still has a slight miss when sitting at idle. I've never had the system cleaned out before.

Thanks for any input. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Wink]" src="gr_images/icons/wink.gif" />

FWIW, I use only Redline SI-1. One bottle every 12,000 miles/12 months should be fine. Check out
www.redlineoil.com/redlineoil/si1ti.htm for more. Also, I would suggest replacing your fuel filter if you haven't done so.

Well the high pressure kind is best.... but for the "average" enthusiast? Chevon Techron is easily the best that I have seen.

It comes in a black bottle and truley does what it says it does. Most mechanics recommed it.

Good luck.

I'll second the redline cleaner. It's good stuff and recommend for use by BMW. I shove a bottle in the tank with every oil change.

The best I have ever used is the BG products 44K. When I had my 85 Fiero V6 it boosted my mpg from 12 to 23mpg.

I would recommend it to anyone. I also put it in my SS. The only drawback is that it costs 17.99 a can.

Be careful about using fuel injector cleaners too often. Every oil change can be overkill, and the chemicals in some of them can be harmful to the fuel system if used too much. Once a year is more than enough in most cases.

I usually do a fuel system cleaning every other oil change, and then with the fuel filter change. Chevron "Techron" is the same fuel system detergent that GM sells for $16 to $20 dollars a bottle.

Thanks again fellas, I already changed out the filter a few months ago and have a fresh set of plugs TGK55's. I have a brand new set of MSD wires but after reading a recent post I am wondering if I should go with the stock wires or try the MSD's. Getting that 6 and 8 is a pain, in more than one way.
