Thanks for all the comments guys. Guess I'll get the real thing. I have a $20 gift certificate thats about to expire, so this seems like the only smart thing to get.

Why not get the knock off if you are gonna get a crappy air filter?

The knock-off won't filter any worse then the already overpriced and under functioning k&n.

Might as well get the cheap one.
