people with macs come inside I was going to install macs with oryp and hooker cat back.Now heres my question Im aready putting down 319hp and 331tq just with lid and ported mass air thats it people tell me thats pretty good for 00 SS and they also said since my motor is making that much power already that with my full exhaust Im only expected to pick up a little more power If I go through the entire exhaust and only pick up a little power I will be very dissappointed so does anybody have before and after numbers with macs please let me know so I might have more confidence in putting the exhaust in Thanks

Re: people with macs come inside im no expert here but id have to say if you go from engine to rear with an upgraded exhaust anywhere from 15 to 20.you will get 5-7 just by deleting the cats.if money is tight though save for longtubes and only do it once! good luck

Re: people with macs come inside Im getting the macs used from a buddy cheap with orp I was thinking about long tubes but I want to lower my car.Thanks so in thiery I should expect about 340hp to the wheels with that set up.

Re: people with macs come inside If you can get them really cheap then go and do it, for the money they are well worth it. i just put them on last week and love them. unless you have a cam, heads or gas the macs will yield the same gains as LTs. but once u get any of that, LTs will give more gians and better sound. save up and sell the macs to get LTs, thats what im doing

Re: people with macs come inside i have coated macs, off road y pipe and the hookercatback, and i love the exhaust set up, i dont have any dyno numbers, but i can tell you it did wake the car up a good bit.

Re: people with macs come inside Does it sound good I bet it does thats great news Im getting a great deal and dont plan on heads/cam just maybe hotcam and spray. The biggest issue is lowering my car I heard long tubes cause clearance problems?

Re: people with macs come inside I have macs with ORP and my car is lowered two inches (Intrax springs)LT would be awful with that low of a clearance. I just put FLP's on my brothers car and lowered his 1 inch and he is scraping more than me. Something to concider if you plan to lower!
As far as sound and power,I have a 224 cam and I could pull better times with LT's I guess, but I will take the loss for the look. Thats something you have to decide on. Only thing I dont like is the rasp macs give you,it was ok at first now I really hate it and Im going to have to do something about it if I can,but I will keep the macs on either way!
For the money,macs are a great way to go. I have friends who are serious racers and they have $ to get any header they want, but still go with macs,just all in opinion I guess.
