If it's an LS1, the crank isn't keyed, so just put it on. I think some of the 6 liter motors are keyed and have to have a keyed balancer.

there wasn't a key in the stock one. however, with holes being drilled in them i didn't know due to balancing issues. by the way, the holes are not symmetrical. they are in "random" places on the pulley.

Get an installation tool. I made one out of metric all thread. Don't try to pull it on with the bolt and DON'T hammer it on. If you need some all thread, pm me. I bought a 3 foot stick so I have plenty of it left.

I bought an install tool off of this site so that is covered. I just wasn't sure if it needed to be aligned any way or not.

i usually sit my balancer next to a heat gun for a few minutes..put on some welding gloves...and slide the balance on..then fully seat it.

just slap it on, there's no indexing or alignment necessary. the holes are drilled so that the balancer is balanced by itself
