How to port a Fast 90 intake

it would not be worth it to fill in the groves,they really are not that wide or deep.and with the temperature variations that the intake sees i dont know how long something would last in those thin grooves,but my guess is not to long.

I would be afraid to put anything in those ports as fear of small portions of it going into places that would become damaging, like making their way into the engine. The writeup is great though, very easy to follow. My moto, the more pictures, the better.

Great write-up I went ahead and did my FAST intake about a month ago. Did the same thing and everything went well although I was a little worried about grinding on 1000.00 dollar part also.

i will be installing the intake in the end of july and then probably spending another couplle weekends dialing in the tune.I should have it dynoed by mid august the latest,so you might be waiting for a little while,but i want to do it right

well i installed the intake last weekend and tuned it yesterday,it feels really good and my air/fuel is real good.I am getting it dynoed on the 13th(about a week) so i will let everyone know what i gain from the fast 90 and nick williams throttle body.Too bad we wont know how much the porting helped.

well i went to the dyno today >same dyno,same temp and same humidity.
before ported fast 90/90 421 rwhp 385 rwtq
after ported fast 90/90 441 rwhp 402 rwtq.
It started gaining from 3000rpm and up.
before ported fast 90/90 421 rwhp 385 rwtq
after ported fast 90/90 441 rwhp 402 rwtq.
It started gaining from 3000rpm and up.

The porting work is very nice and clean. There is more to port in the 90mm though
You did what I call a stage 1 port job -ussually $150 . Stage 2 is that and direct porting to the heads -$250 and then there is a full port which shortens the runners and short turn radiuses,mostly for bigger cube motors -$450.
I remember getting one of the first 78mm's when they came out.First thing I did was grind the runner's like you did thinking "hope this doesn't screw up the intake". That gained me 20rwhp too from a stock LS6.
