Default off road ypipe options for a 99

I want to keep my stock manifolds on my 99 for the time being. I need to know what my options are.

Ive seen an off road y pipe made by stainless works, and one made by bassani. Are there any other products out there that i could bolt on up?

I'd take a guess there haven't already been too many people with positive results with just an ORY. I would seriously consider saving for something other than an ORY.

unless your dead set on keeping your stock manifolds forever and ever and ever, leave it alone untill your ready to do headers.

im dead set on keeping my stock manifolds until its no longer a daily driver. i expect that to be a long time. my other option is getting the cats replaced. that would be more expensive than just replacing the ypipe myself. hence, i want a new ypipe.

or......you could get under the car, cut the cats off and weld a section of pipe in their place, insted of dropping hundreds on somthing that is going to net you virtually nothing, then you could sell your stock cats for $125.00 to 2000firehawk, and sit back and bask in your new found 5hp and $100 bucks.

i only have a flux welder, no mig. i really dont have anyone to ask to weld them for me. where will you find an exhaust shop that will do that sort of work.

btw, the bassani ypipe isnt as bad as i thought it would be. only 240something plus shipping.

im still wondering about my original question. are there any other ypipes available besides the stainless works and bassani?

SLP used to make one.....

the only other thing i could tell you would be to cut the cats out yourself, measure them, go to like autozone or somthing and get sections of pipe that are the same length and take it to an exhaust shop and have them weld them in. most places wont touch it if they know you are taking the cats out. but if you take the pipes in off the car im sure they wont have a problem welding them up for you. if they ask, tell them its off a 50's somthing car. with this method, you can still sell your cats to 2000firehawk, and still have enough $$$ left over for a couple cases of beer!

im not trying to talk you out of somthing that you really want to do, but im trying to save you money. now if you never had future plans to do headers, then i would say go for the ORY for stock manifolds.

also one other question i had for you, why dont you want to put headers on the car? i DD my car and i have LT's with TSP TD's without cats and dynomax bullets. i sacraficed nothing. with a good tune i still average 24mpg combined and it still drives like stock, only faster

Well, I found a brand new MAC off road ypipe for cheap. only 180 bucks, so thats cheap enough for me to pull the trigger.

I dont want to do headers because ive heard about too many people having issues with them, messing with the a/f mix, fouling o2's, leaks, etc...

Im sure a lot of people get them and they run fine, but its my DD and i just dont want to mess with it.

make sure the MAC one is for stock manifolds and not for their mids.

Go for it, when I installed my bassani ORY in 2003, I dynoed 340hp and 350tq, before my ported T-body. A friend with same mods and LT dynoed only 8 more hp, same day-club dyno day. Unless you are doing heads and or cam LT not worth much.
