Custom Td's should i get them?? PICS

A guy in my area custom make true duals for ls1 cars. and is an ls1 mechanic. Someone that has them told me he picked up 7rwhp over TSP's duals, and you also dont have to drill into the car to mount them. its $550 for the installation and the TDs themself. just wanna see if you guys think they look good. seeing as i dunno what good tds look like.

They look good. 550 isn't to bad of a price. What kind of mufflers are you getting with them? Id get it all welded up, and just have clamps at the collector to the exhuast, so you dont have any problems with exhuast leaks or them coming off. I wouldn't count on getting 7hp more then texas speeds, but should get a gain over stock exhuast. plus they are doing the installation, and you probably dont have to wait as long as texas speed. They usually have a long waiting list, which is why i had custom 3 inch td's done on my car.

bmxer8699 Aug 13, 2007 11:49 PM

thats what i thought

Phoenix 5.7 Aug 13, 2007 11:51 PM

how is the mufflers hanged? i wouldn't trust that whole damn thing hangin from my headers. looks to be a very nice piece, and the price isn't bad

I would think that there are hangers at the end... if not, well holy shit lol.

That's an awesome deal. Especially including installation. Get 'em

orangeapeel Aug 14, 2007 04:46 AM

Looks good to me. I love my duals.

Like the setup, I am on the wall about have a custom setup made like TSP or just getting theirs but atleast with custom, it is made just for your car and your headers.

I'd do it for the conveinience and price. But I am doubtful of gains and wonder why someone would swap out TDs for another set of TDs.

Grifter Aug 14, 2007 03:22 PM

What kind of tubing, I am guessing aluminized? Looks like a really nice setup.

tylerdj Aug 14, 2007 03:25 PM

Those look pretty good. However I would have some kind of hanger to hold the back section up, thats a lot of piping to just hang on the headers alone.

The hangers do not drill through the body of your car. Instead they have brackets and rubber bushings to help minimize interior noises heard through out the cars of competitor installed systems.

now what should i get billets or Flo Pro Twisters?

So where do the brackets attach to?
