LT1 radiator in LS1 f-body?

LT1 radiator in LS1 f-body? What is the difference between a radiator out of an LT1 F-body and an LS1 F-body? Fluidyne makes a 32mm, high performance, all aluminum radiator for 1993-1997 F-bodies (LT1s) but I don't see why it could not be used in my 01.

1) Charged Air Systems 10 FPI radiator (street version)
2) Charged Air Systems 14 FPI radiator (road race version)

Cost is not the concern (I NEED to cool this car down....) and it will still have (at minimum) the factory cooling fans. I like the idea of the Charged Air Systems 14 FPI radiator but am wondering if I would have any problems running this on the street. The more cooling I can get, the better off I will be.
I have an oil cooler on the car now but since the heads/cam even it can't keep up anymore. I will be upgrading it after I do the radiator. The 105+ degree AZ summers coupled with 11.1:1 CR and 91 octane are killer. I drove around today with the AC off (over 100 outside) and still could not keep the water temp below 200.

Re: LT1 radiator in LS1 f-body? i remember reading when the LT1's came out about what wasn't interchangable with the standard sbc, because it was 'reverse cooled' and 1 item was the radiator, because the inlet and outlet were on opposite sides... do LS1's use the the original type, or the reverse cooled style?

Re: LT1 radiator in LS1 f-body? Be Cool guarantees a 20 degree coolant drop with their radiator...plus it shaves a few pounds off the front of the car....but they aren't cheap at $500+

I swaped my lt1 car to a ls1 and used the lt1 rad. There is a small hole in the drivers side bottom that goes to the water pump on the lt1, I just plugged that up with a rubber cap. Thats the only diff. And it dont run hot. Cheap and works for me lol

There are a couple of heater hose nipples that need to
be capped or plugged, otherwise the LT1 radiator drops
right in. I scuffed the inside of them and filled them with
JB-Weld. You get almost double the core thickness and
they can be had dirt cheap on eBay if you are patient.
I paid $40 brand new in box.

If you like to use your air conditioning in the summer
there's a real good reason to upgrade to something.
LT1 rad is the cheapest step up.
On the LT1 I got, there is a substantial difference in
the thickness of the core / fins. Not the structural bits
(which is why it drops in). If what you get isn't fatter,
where it counts, then you are getting hosed. You can't
trust every pimple faced Honda-driving counter kid
to press the right key on the magic box....

Just an FYI, The LT1 Radiators are thicker than the LS1 Radiators and I have purchased a Brand New LT1 Radiator a few times for different cars and they run between 85.00-120.00 on the average.
As for a cheap alternative, I vote for the LT1 Radiator due to the core being thicker. It's like 3/4" for ls1 and 1 1/4" for LT1. Not exact measurements but close, and a general idea of what I'm trying to explain.

Yeaps. I swapped a 98 LS1 into my 97 Camaro (formerly 3.8L), and went to the LT1 radiator. The low coolant sensor is there on the passenger side, and it has the coolant tubes for the throttle body as well (which actually serve to "prevent throttle valve icing during cool weather operation").

just a side note, when i replaced my LS1 radiator with an LT1, i bought one off a member. it was a 97 LT1 radiator. when i received it, it was no thicker than my LS1 radiator. i jumped his *** just to look like an idiot, because the 97 LT1 radiators are the same as the LS1 (aside from the heater hosed and what not).
I asked for an LT1 radiator thinking they were all the same, but i didnt specify that i needed the thicker radiator.
