I keep burning up O2's For some reason after I got the cam installed I've been having trouble with my 02 sensor life. So far they've lasted a max of 3 months. Any reasons for this or ways to fix it? Anyone else have this problem? |
Did you get a full tune? Is the car running rich? Do you ever used leaded race gas? If you answered Yes, no, no then I'd look into an electrical issue. If you answered no, no no then get a tune. If you answered yes, no (I don't know), no then get your tune looked at. If you answered Yes, no, Yes STOP using leaded gas! :D |
Yes I do have a full tune and yes the car runs rich. I've never used race gas either. I do think I should get my tune looked at. I'm running the Bosch corvette sensors at the moment and have had good luck with them until they started burning up after the cam. |
After ruining the stock sensors after my cam and tune, I went to 13111 sensors, but failed 1 after 5K or so. I read a thread here a long time ago that said driving below 1500RPM does not keep the sensor warm enough, and I believe it helps the sensors last to keep the RPMs up. I set an O2 code recently driving to my new work trying to use 6th gear at 60mph for the drive, but in a few days it set a code. Now using 5th to get the RPM close to 2K cleared the code in 2 days, and have not seen it since. Give it a try. I have noticed more than once that putting around at low RPM will eventually set a code. |

The car runs rich once the SES light goes on which I uderstand why. The car is tuned but I feel that something may need to be tweaked a bit. |
I have been having the same problem with the bosch 13111 and i have a stock tune with full exhaust. I went through about 6 bosch 13111s. So last week I went to GM replacements from a vette....so far so good. |
I'm going to give the AC delco corvette sensors a try. Its crap that the 13111's can't function correctly when under 1500 rpms. |
