Are ported 90's just for big cubes?

Like the title says. I am looking at going to a 90/90 setup this winter and want to know if it's worth having the intake ported for a stock cubed motor. I've done some searching and it seems like the only guys porting them have 400+ ci.

Also, at what point does the LS6 start choking the motor? I know there are guys that run really well with them, but what are they doing to improve them. Mine doesn't really like to pull above 6200.

My mods are: LS6 intake, ported stock TB, TEA 1.5 5.3's, 238/243 .598/.617 112+4 cam, 150+ shot of spray.

there is no reason not to port it

The answer is a big no. Lots of people have ported the 90/90. Have you looked at Patrick G's setup? Search for "The "RECIPE" to 500HP with Heads/Cam".

OK, I'm sold on the ported 90 after reading that. The only problem is that now I want those 205's :D
