Dual cutout's worth it?

I was thinking of running dual cutouts right behind the headers for track use only. I have a 2.5" H-pipe duals with Sweet Thunders run out the back. How much gain am I looking at? Just trying to see if it's worth the $70 for two of them.

teh consensus on here is that true-duals with cutouts is worthless, you really dont gain much over teh h-pipe, besides some negative low end torque.

that being said, i have dual cutouts in a y-pipe setup and wouldnt have it any other way, i love mine and they sound like the end of the workd is coming down the street, i dont notice any low end loss either, plus you mentioned for only $30 a piece, you really dont lose out

I totally agree haveing about everykind of cutout.. no gain having two. i do feel that it is louder...with two just because it also dumps right under the driver too.

I have had mine closed off for a while seemed to have less power with them open? Would that be possible somthing to do with the 02s? Or just so loud seems like it should be faster?

I have dual cutouts in a y-pipe setup as well, and love it. I also saw a nice gain on the dyno with them open.

I think that since you already have true duals, you really wouldn't be gaining much more by doing dual cut outs.. But I bet it would sound pretty sick at idle though ;)

I have two 3" cutouts at each header collector in my ORY, placed where cats usually are.

I can tell you from experience that I gained a lot of et/mph from running them open vs closed, and I have a VERY free flowing full exhaust system to begin with... not to mention the sound is pretty sick. Listening to the cam though them is therapeutic LOL...

I Definitely noticed low end power loss before 3000 rpm, but definitely pulls harder up top. I would like to hear dual cutouts on my car, cause open headers were alot louder than my cutout.

I have duel 3" QTP cut out coming off each side of my long tub collectors ,love the way it sounds, very loud.
