Default Anyone who's seperated the FAST intake....

I split my FAST last week to paint the top half and port the bottom half and have a question about the seal forthe 2 halfs. Where the seal sits in the channel around the inner half, there is RTV to fill in the little grooves and openings throughout the seal channel, I guess it's the way the plastic was made,is the RTV suppose to be there? I bought the intake used for a local guy and he was having a vaccum leak problem, but it ended up not relating to the intake at all, but he put RTV around the intake seals, the TB seal, and where the IAC bolts on the side of the TB. I didn't know if he put the RTV in those small grooves or it came like that from the factory. I hope you guys understand what I'm talking about

It didn't come with RTV from the factory. The red gasket inside the intake had some sealer on each end of the pieces between the runners to make one the gasket seal to the part that goes around the intake.

Hope this helps!
