your stock P&P TB is fine, the ls6 is holding you back more than the TB or hell even the lid now that we have an 85mm one available

if you notice the walls of the Professinal Products TB are just as thick as a stocker. If you did purchase this TB i would have it ported and polished. I had and issue with the idle air control plunger on this TB. The hole was a little big and the oem would get stuck. I had to go to Napa and buy another (around $100 bucks). This one had a larger plunger with a rubber boot that worked.

Just like everyone else said keep your ported and polished tb unless you think it could be better and make sure you have it ground where it opens up 100%. Dont mess with the MAF, people mess with these and then cause tuning problems. Just take the screen out and be done with it. The lid shouldnt matter much you should be fine.

I have personally had several of those 80 and 85mm units come to me to get ported and they are what they are, very cheap which means all the parts are very cheap as well. I was going to use one on my car but decided not to since its pointless to go with anything bigger than stock while still using a ls6 intake. If you get a tb you still have to use a reducer to get into the 78mm ls6 intake. Now if you had a 90mm intake then the 85mm tb would flow more air. And yea they definitely need alot of work to flow great, basically like a stocker thats unported. Tim
