Default '02 TB cable on a '99

Have a '02 TB that I wasnt to use on a '99.Because the cable lengths are different between the years and instead of swaping the shaft and cam on the '02 TB. Can I just put a '02 TB cable on my '99?

I'm not so sure on this. When I installed an '01 TB on my '99 it wouldn't work. I let out all the slack and it still opened the TB a bit. The only way I was able to make it work was take the cable off the intake bracket so it would sit up a little further.

I believe there is too much travel on the '01 TB for the cable to work. Here's the difference between the two. '01 TB on car:

Yeah I was wondering if the bracket or routing of the TB cable is different on the newer cars. I know the butterfly bracket on the TB is different on the differnt TB's

I'm pretty sure the cable is different because it has a complete different routing. It's probably a little shorter but either way, it has more length from the intake bracket to the end of the butterfly bracket.

Does your car have traction control?

Do you have both throttle bodies where you can just swap the butterfly brackets?

Yeah I have both TB's and I prob could just switch the shafts but dont really know how to do it. I thought it would be easier to swap TB cables instead. Yes the car has traction control and cruise control

super easy,,remove your TB blade by removeing the 2 T-15 or T20 screws, then lift out your blade,,,then, just whack (lightly of course), the brass end (opposite of where your cable hooks up),,,a lil o ring (metal) will come off, dont loose it. the whole shaft and cable cam will come off.

Yeah man it'd be sooo much easier to just swap the brackets

Bad blue ws6 pretty much summed it up perfect.

you got it,,,the only thing that is different (like in my pic above) is the ear lookin thing that the cable attaches to,,the shaft, bolt holes for you TB blade, everything else is the same. dont be afraid to give it a good whack when removing,,your not going ot hurt nothing. Some folks say to use a deadblow hammer, etc,,i just use a normal hammer and have had no issues.
