Default Small vaccum like pump near the front of intake driver side

Hi, guys, i am almost ready to start up the 2000 ls1 with 6 speed i am putting in my 67 camaro. My question is, there is a small electrical vacuum pump looking thing near the front of the intake on the driver side of the engine. It has a connector that looks like it accepts a 2 wire weather pack connector. I am wondering what this is for and if it is okay to remove it. It had 1 line going to the back of the throttle body. I removed it and used a vacuum plug to block it off. I have had the emissions equipment deleted in my computer and am hoping it is an emission related piece. Thanks, Aaron

In the pic you posted the piece i'm talking about is behind the iac. It is attached to the black plastic hose i can see in the pic. Looks like it is hiding under your wire harness. Right above valve cover.

That's the Evap solinoid. Not really a "emissions" part, but I guess so. Sounds like you don't have a plug to connect to it so I guess your harness dosen't have it. Actually a good thing to have and could be connected to the vent line on the fuel tank.
