BBK vs NW tb's

looking for the better one to buy,bbk 80 or nick williams 90 ?whats a fair price?

Don't forget about the PTM 90MM TB. You can get it for a great price.

orangeapeel Jan 12, 2008 05:04 PM

Well, they aren't alike in any way except for being a throttle body. What are you wanting to do with this setup? I would vote for NW either way. Ask a sponsor about pricing. ------------>>>>>>>

just getting started, right now gear/intake/later in spring cam.just looking for alittle more go-juice thats all, daily driver.

orangeapeel Jan 12, 2008 05:13 PM

What intake are you planning on running? LS6? FAST? BBK?

johnnydje Jan 12, 2008 05:16 PM

bbk looks real good on numbers.BBK.

RareBreed0295 Jan 12, 2008 05:19 PM

Are you planning on running the Ls6 or the fast???

orangeapeel Jan 12, 2008 05:22 PM

I would stick with an LS6 intake and a ported stock TB + a mild cam. That is a budget setup that will rock. If you plan on going with heads that are running oversized valves consider bigger. Not that you won't benefit from it now going 90/90 or 80/90.

Nick Williams Jan 12, 2008 05:46 PM

For now I think you should just get your stock throttle body ported. Later on when you get your cam installed, then you should start to consider a 90mm intake and throttle body and heads. Just like Orangeapeel said.

running a stock ported one witha ls6 intake on my blk one for now.soon will have a NW90/FAST 90 in there too.

sidewayz28 Jan 12, 2008 08:21 PM

cheaper...PTM 90MM TB

orangeapeel Jan 12, 2008 08:56 PM

I would suggest less on skimping with a PTM and go for the NW when the time comes.

bbk piece leaves a little to be desired, stock tb works great on ls6 intake-anything up to mid 400's rwhp, after that fast 90 with nw 90

I agree, take some time on saturday afternoon and port your stocker. Then when you do your h/c setup do your intake and tb at the same time.
