Who has it? Did it cure the problem, period? Does it still bang sometimes? Was it worth it? I know about the poly motor mounts...dont wanna debate that...does the hanger work or not?

Please only respond if you have info on the hanger itself...I am aware of all of the other methods of solving the problem... I am interested in the hanger only, please. Thank you!

I have it on. Cured the banging problem right away. I use it under the drivers seat.

imo.. I'd get Poly motor mounts and/or the y modified before I put one of those on. With that bump stop on there the problem isn't actually solved its just a band aid and all you are doing is using the exhaust and headers as a motor mount.

Are you serious? You welded your headers on to your Y?

mine are welded too...screw some clamps..no leaks! if you HAVE to work on it, you cut it then re-weld...clamps are just plain lazy...conveinient for those without a welder or knowledge of welding, but thats all

lap jointed band clamps work great. You must be thinking about Ubolt clamps.
No leaks for two years w/ my band clamps and I've had my Y pipe off several times for clutch swaps etc.

I'm sorry but this comment is just dumb. Clamps are for the lazy? They're incredibly convenient and when installed properly(not that they're hard to install) they shouldn't leak. Why would you ever want your y-pipe welded to your headers? I have ball and sockets flanges, which are less common now, and they don't leak at all. The only slip-fit joints that I have seen leak either had a broken clamp and weren't tightened enough.

Back on topic; the bump stop does work but if you still have stock mounts you're putting quite a bit of stress on the hanger.

I just swapped my custom y for a Pacesetter because the guy who made the custom one did a lousy job. One thing he did do though was weld on a hangr in the same spot as the mufflex one goes - and I had no banging. It definately works at stopping the banging, but unfortunately hid a different problem that I now know about - my passenger side motor mount is dying, so I've got to swap them out.

Same here, plus I backed that up with spray gasket. No leaks, drips, or whining from the missus.
