Car starts and immediatly dies?

Car starts and immediatly dies? Throwing code P1637 which is terminal L. I believe this may be because I dont have an alternator... but would that kill my car that fast? Also I dont have a MAP sensor hooked up at the moment. Wondering if that would do it also..
Its an LQ4 with all LS1 stuff on it, swapping into a datsun, but I would just like to see it run for more than half a second..
I have HPTuners and have double checked that VATS IS turned off..
Anyone?
