'02 ZO6 performance options
got a '02 ZO6 with intake, headers, high flow cats, custom xpipe, axle back exhaust, and the skipshift eliminator.
we're looking to do a cam. maybe heads. we're wondering what else we should do. and suggestions on what cam, heads, ect.
goal is low 11s high 10s. while staying pump gas and street able.
my budget is about $3k finished.
thanks in advance.

Heads/cam/tire and you're in the low 11s all day right at budget. When you want to play in the 10s just feed it some bottle.
This doesn't include the cost of replacing all the **** you're going to break if you actually race it, however.

It'll be plenty reliable until you start dropping the clutch at 6000rpm. Then you are going to break stuff.
I don't think it's possible to reach the 10s N/A on a $3k budget while beefing up anything that might possibly break. The clutch for that setup alone would be 50% of your 'finished' budget.

This is what I was already thinking of upgrading before the head and cam.
Let me know if im on the right track
Spec Billet Steel Flywheel
HD Right Side Gear
HD Right Output Shaft
HD Left Output Shaft
Pfadt Polyurethane Engine Mounts
Stage 3+ Spec Clutch
HD Mainshaft
275/35ZR18 Michelin Pilot Sport PS2
335/30ZR18 Michelin Pilot Sport PS2
Pfadt Adjustable Coil Over Kit
CCW SP20s Front 18x10 Rear 18x11.5
about $8500 for all of this equipment.

im going to be doing the work on steths(mark) car. i know we'll need to get it tuned, but as far as the parts them selfs...
what kind of heads?
what kind of cam?
need valve springs, rockers, and lifters?
whiles its open that far, what else? intake? injectors?

Parts-buying decisions are usually made based on budget and goal. If you're really shooting for 10s NA with a $3k budget you're better off buying used. Otherwise you're going to go WAY over that budget.

I figured as much. I would most likely get new parts, and do the install myself with the help of DaTurboSix. i would be happy in the mid to low 11's.

I don't personally recommend anything. The site sponsors are real pros and can point you in the right direction.
Allow me to remind you that the LS6 is a pushrod V8 with a single camshaft and does not require you to disassemble the top end to change the camshaft. Depending on the miles and the profile of the camshaft you choose, it will require new valvesprings, locks, retainers, seals and a ported oil pump for safety. Many other items are optional but recommended.
Everything you want to know about engine performance can be found here

thanks. ill try contacting some of the site sponsers.
hopefully there is a heads/cam package including the springs, lifters and keepers.
otherwise, i was thinking getting some work done to the stock ls6 heads. but bang for buck is there?? might be better off with a aftermarket head.
