You stand a good chance of breaking them if you
don't at least pull them & reinstall after. May also
find you don't like how the wires fit with headers,
I had some MSD ones that were fine with manifolds
but after headers had the boot always touching
the tubes; swapped them out for LS2 wires later.

You don't need to change them. But make sure you take them out for the install or you could crack one. Then you have to try to find it and replace it.

A cracked plug takes all the fun out of open headers. The backfires sound like a gun shot, and it sucks to know you're messing up your brand new headers.

You don't have to, but why wouldn't you? MSD wires are $50 and a set of 8 plugs is $16.

jimmyblue: The MSD wires have the boot on the plug where you can move it around & away from the primaries.

When I bought my car last year, first bolt on I added was my QTP Lt's.. I had to replace the wiring because they were breaking and about had it.. So it's depending on the shape there in..

i had to replace mine cause the metal connectors in the boots came off and stayed on the ends of pluhgs 3,5,7 so i went with autozone duralast wires and ngk tr5's. it's not MANDATORY but it's a good insurance policy
